Our Story || Classic Hawaiian Mu'umu'u's Just Like Grandma Used to Make
Holoholo Shack was inspired by my very own Hawaiian 'Ohana... in particular, fond childhood memories of my maternal Grandmother from Maui hand sewing my Mom, Sister, and I matching muʻumuʻu's.
To me, a muʻumuʻu is more than just a garment - it is the warmth of a loved one, it is a security blanket, it is all the warm-cozy-fuzzies you feel in your 'Ohana Hale... it is everything Aloha...
The catalyst for Holoholo Vibes, however, was a deeply moving painting by artist, Herb Kawainui Kāne called, "Daughters of the Sea" that I came across while vacationing in Kailua, Kona with my family. As I gazed into the photo, I was transported in time to the ancient Kingdom of Hawai'i... my muʻumuʻu gently swayed with the ocean current, as I floated effortlessly in my pua haku. This was the moment Holoholo Vibes was born.

“When you saw a Herb Kāne painting, you were energized and motivated to learn about the past. …His artwork captured both ancient and modern-day Hawaiʻi and help preserve Hawaiʻi's unique culture for future generations.”- Daniel Inouye, Former United States Senator from Hawaii.
